On Oct 29th thousands of runners in costume will take to the streets in downtown Ellicottville to compete in either the half marathon or the 5k. Even if you are not one of the registered to run there are lots of opportunities to enjoy being a spectator and really get into the Halloween spirit.
If running isn’t quite your idea of a g good time, Saturday night of the 28th will also offer a variety of Halloween parties and costume contests at the local hotspots and a party at the Legion for children 12 and under hosted by the Rotary Club of Ellicottville from 6pm -8pm.
Bet you didn’t know that there was some incredible fly fishing to be done in the Ellicottville area. November, a super fun month to visit starts off with a Fly Fishing Movie night sponsored by Adventure Bound on the Fly and hosted at Holiday Valley. This fun evening includes fish talk, films, pizza and even a beer tasting from Southern Tier Brewing Company! Next up in November is the infamous Holiday Valley Beer and Wine Festival! Hosted by the Ellicottville Brewing Co, Holiday Valley and Southern Tier Brewery, the event features over 100 hand-crafted beers from over 30 of the best New York State and American craft breweries and wines from New York, Southern Ontario and Ellicottville vintners held on November 12th, 2016 from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the Main Lodge. If you book your stay for the whole weekend you can start the event off on the Friday night by attending the Brewmasters Dinner, an informal and intimate Brew Master meet & greet. The food for this event will be sourced and grown from within a 60 mile radius of Holiday Valley! The menu will include local foods like Amish Valley View cheeses, Amish breads, Wendell's poultry, grapes from Silver Creek and Watsons's chocolates. Lastly, a classic, family friendly event that you won’t want to miss in Ellicottville, NY in November is Christmas in Ellicottville! This is your chance to escape the hustle and bustle of a commercialized holiday time and get back to some good old fashioned family fun. The main event begins November 25th and runs through the 27th, with a full schedule of free events all weekend long and then on December 2nd the Rotary Club of Ellicottville will hold an auction at The Ellicottville Brewing Co. to support local children and families in need and on Saturday December 3rd is the Living Nativity that parades throughout the Village at 6pm…there’s even a LIVE CAMEL!
