Summertime Outdoor Adventure Awaits! August 10, 2017
When was the last time you visited Ellicottville? Have you only visited during the ski season or have you had the opportunity to experience Ellicottville in all its grandeur in the Summer months?
If you haven’t yet made it a priority to visit during the Summer…what could you possibly be waiting for? Ellicottville has grown over the past number of years and has added many new outdoor attractions and adventures that appeal to the outdoor enthusiast of all ages and abilities. Many of these attractions can be accessed right out of your back door when you are staying at a SnowPine condo.
Last year Holiday Valley created a brand new mountain bike flow trail which is a wonderful adventure for mountain bikers of all different abilities. Named the Senear Valley Trail, it runs from Spruce Lake across through the woods to Champagne, then it zigs and zags across the front ski slopes with big banked turns in the woods, and finishes near the Training Center. Not only will the trail offer you an excellent way to get your heart rate up it also offers some amazing views and scenery. See the map here.
There are also over 35+ miles of WYMBA single track trails in the adjacent State Forest land which have been deemed “epic” by IMBA. See the map online right here or stop in to the Bike and Bean at 30 Washington St. in downtown Ellicottville and purchase your own personal copy of the map with all the Ellicottville trails on it. (a great thing to have on hand when you’re out for a ride).
A very exciting new addition this year to the variety of Summer activities available in Ellicottville, NY is happening at Spruce Lake at the top of Holiday Valley’s mountain. Adventure Bound on the Fly has set up SUP rentals, lessons and a variety of fitness classes which can all be accessed right at the Spruce Lake beach area. You can gather up the kids and fur babies too and pack a picnic and spend an afternoon swimming, paddling and just having some good, clean relaxing fun. See all the details here.
One more outdoor experience that you can only have in a ski town and is now available to you are chairlift rides every Saturday and Sunday on Spruce Lake chair. They started the first weekend in August and are another unique opportunity to enjoy a rather relaxing outdoor adventure while staying at SnowPine Village.
Of course we have to mention the Sky High Adventure Park because what would a visit to Ellicottville in the Summer be without either testing your strength, skill and endurance at Sky High or just enjoying a thrilling ride down the side of the slopes on the Mountain Coaster! The park is open daily throughout August so don’t miss out on this amazing adventure!
